About SeoulMisu
What is misugaru?
Misugaru (mee-soot-gah-roo) is a traditional Korean grain blend made from roasted grains, beans, and seeds that are finely milled into a powder. For generations, it has been enjoyed in Korea as a nourishing drink, mixed with water or milk and served hot or cold.
Why is it called SeoulMisu?
SeoulMisu brings together two ideas: Seoul, the city where our founder grew up, and Misu, inspired by misugaru, one of Korea’s most beloved everyday traditions. The name reflects our mission to share Korean wellness rituals in a way that feels simple, modern, and approachable.
Ingredients & Nutrition
Is SeoulMisu vegan?
Yes. Both Morning Glow and Midnight Glow are made entirely from plant-based ingredients and contain no dairy or animal-derived ingredients.
Is SeoulMisu gluten-free?
No. SeoulMisu contains barley and oats and is not certified gluten-free.
Does it contain added sugar?
No. SeoulMisu contains no added sugar, sweeteners, or artificial flavors. The naturally nutty flavor comes entirely from roasted grains, beans, and seeds.
Is it a protein powder?
No. SeoulMisu is a grain-based wellness blend, not a protein supplement. While it naturally contains protein from ingredients such as soybeans and black beans, it is not formulated as a high-protein product.
Is it a meal replacement?
Not officially. Some people enjoy SeoulMisu as a light breakfast or afternoon snack, but it is not intended to replace balanced meals. Traditional misugaru has often been enjoyed as a filling beverage because grains and legumes provide satisfying texture and nourishment.
How much caffeine is in Morning Glow?
Morning Glow contains approximately 25–50 mg of caffeine per serving from organic matcha.
For comparison:
- Morning Glow: 25–50 mg
- Coffee: ~95 mg per cup
Morning Glow offers a gentler source of energy than a typical cup of coffee.
Preparation
How do I prepare SeoulMisu?
Mix 25 g (about 2 tablespoons) of SeoulMisu with 200 ml (7 oz) of water or milk. Shake, blend, or whisk until smooth. For a richer and creamier texture, we recommend using your favorite milk.
Can I drink it hot or cold?
Yes. SeoulMisu can be enjoyed both ways.
- Hot: Warm, comforting, and perfect for slow mornings.
- Cold: Refreshing and ideal for warmer days.
Can I add coffee?
Absolutely. One of our favorite ways to enjoy SeoulMisu is with espresso or coffee. Simply prepare SeoulMisu with milk, then pour it over espresso for a café-style DirtyMisu.
